29th October Coleen Derighetti won the Centenary Trophy today with a 67.  This time of year must suit as this was her seventh time winning this particular trophy. After 4 years since the last win it was like being re-united with an old friend.

Jaci Moriarty's extra point for 5th place today all but secures the league. 7 points ahead with one round to go means a single point from the Winter Trophy will see her over the line.
Today was alsopart of the Pink Day fundraiser for Breast Cancel and to date we have raised £342 and Linda Hutchinson has been busy knitting club covers and wool head bands for the charity and her efforts have so far raised £237 which will also be passed on to the charity well done all.

10th Sept Well done Mandy McBain and Jaci Moriarty who won the final of the Comiston Ladies Foursomes Matchplay. 21 holes were needed to decide the winners of this fine match against Sandra Ashurst and Lisa Kilpatrick.
Never in front in the regulation round, the Lochend duo kept in the match and finally triumphed at the third extra hole over the Braid Hills course.

Tonight's 9-hole Flag Competition for the Rebecca Ellis Ford Trophy could not have been closer. We had the unusual occurrence of two players finishing the furthest in exactly the same place (in the 9th hole) with their par-plus-handicap stroke allowance.
Rather then send Kelly McShannon and Jane Maclean out for a playoff the committee decided the winner would be deemed by the countback that meant commiserations for Jane as Kelly's 5 at the 9th was enough to give her the trophy and the meal for two sponsored by the Southern Cross.
Kelly limbered up for the meal with a cake or two (as did we all).

15th Aug The Jessie Grahame Stableford trophy was won tonight by Kelly McShannon with 37 points, Pat Meikle took the runner-up spot with 35 points on the better-inward half from newly crowned ladies champion Mandy McBain in third.
Jessie's memory is also celebrated with a team event stableford triam. This year it was a quirky 1-2-3 version (nicknamed the cha-cha-cha) where in order the requirements are 1 counting score then 2 then 3 in rotation.  This interesting, fun format was won by the Pat Meikle, Carole Owens and Myra Law team with an excellent haul of 76points

David Dalgleish and Jaci Moriarty retained their Winterfield Mixed trophy today. It may not have been the super scoring (58.4) of last year but they coped best with the East Coast wind and rain to card a 66 which was a mere 0.4 ahead of the runners-up and 0.6 ahead of the 3rd placed couple.
It's turning into quite a few weeks for Jaci, timely too with Championship approaching on Monday.

30th July Jaci Moriarty and Coleen Derighetti won the scratch prize at Swanston Ladies Open Greensome today. Not an easy course, the sun might have shone but the wind fairly blew and for Jaci the hits just keep on coming.
  JACI MORIARTY & COLEEN DERIGHETTI
29th July Jaci Moriarty and Eunice Reid won the July Medals today. What a great couple of weeks they are both having. It started at Duff House Royal were Jaci got to the final and Eunice the last 16, Jaci continued with two successful Mixed Opens reaching the semi-final at Liberton and winning the Scratch Prize at Falkirk, both with partner Paul Mackay. Eunice went on to win the Daily Mail qualifier competition with Pat Meikle and then the July Stableford.
Today's medal played quite tough due to the high winds. Jaci's Silver Medal winning score was 70 with Eileen Gillespie one stroke further back and runner-up on the better-inward-half from Vivien Mitchell.
Eunice took the Bronze with a 72 a massive seven strokes clear of runner-up Sheila Munro.
Today was all about the final chance to qualify for this years Championships and it was previous champions Diane Moncrieff and Eileen Gillespie (defending champion) who top the qualifier list, both with a qualifying score of 80 full draws here

  EUNICE REID
18th July Pat Meikle and Eunice Reid won the Daily Mail Foursomes qualifier today.  They posted a score of 68 early in the day and had to wait until the evening rounds to know the final outcome.  In the evening Diane Crolla and Carole Owens made a valiant effort and, were it not for a 5-8 finish, their score would have been much better that the 70.5 they finished with.  Never-the-less it was good enough for the runner-up spot on the better-inward-half from Diane Moncrieff and Susan Randal.
Pat & Eunice will now represent Lochend Ladies in the national Daily Mail Match Play Knockout competition, we all wish them well.

15th July The Irish theme was evident today as leprechauns, lucky shamrocks and the "Tayto" crisps where in plentiful as we played for the Lady Captains Trophy.
Our captain, Vivien Mitchell, hails from the Emerald Isle and as you can see the ladies got into the spirit of the Irish theme.
Vivien came very close to winning the trophy herself,  However Fiona Findlay, having a great season, came in with an excellent 66 to take the trophy, Vivien was runner-up with 68 on the better-inward-half from Eileen Gillespie.  This win means Fiona returns to the top of the League Table.

Myra's score of 70 won the Bronze Medal one stroke ahead of Linda Hutchinson and Mary Law. Linda taking the runner-up spot on the better-inward-half.

Today's round was also the first Championship Qualifier and Diane's 80 pretty much assures her of a spot.  Mandy McBain lies in second spot with 82 and Fiona Findlay is currently third best with 84.

13th May Linda Hutchinson and Mary Law won the Coronation Foursomes Stableford today. 36 Stableford points doesn't do justice to just how well they both played. Had they scored at the final hole it might have been a more accurate account.
Pat Meikle and Diane Crolla were second with 35 Points in the better-inward-half from Jaci Moriarty and Coleen Derighetti
Linda and Mary will now represent Lochend in one of the area finals, we wish then well.
9th May Ladies Champion Eileen Gillespie won the Par competition for the first time tonight. One of only three players to beat the course Eileen managed a three-up win over the course.  Jaci Moriarty's 2-up win gave her second spot and Sue Sayer (1-up) has now had a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the opening three competitions.
