(all scores mentioned are Net unless otherwise stated).
|6th December||December medal winners
Pretty heavy under-foot today and the scores showed it.
However, G. Anderson carded the best score of the day, his 70 won him the B section as well as the overall prize. Jim McArthur's 71 was a close second.
David harper won the A Section with 73 and Alex Young won the C Section also with a 71.
CSS today was RO so no changes to handicap
|1st November||November Medal
A very closely fought November Medal was won by Ross Edwards, his 64 was the best score of the day (on the BIH) giving him the overall win and the B Section. Eddie Paul also scored a 64 to win the C Section and David Robertson's 65 won the A Section.
CSS today was 67
Congratulations to John Selcraig who won the Summer Matchplay taking on Ally Forrest in the final. John was sitting pretty, needing only one hole for victory when teeing off the 13th. A half then left him 5 up with 5 to play. Ally then won the 14th and 15th but John held his nerve to see out the match at the 16th for a three and two win. Well done both finalists.
|19th October||Currie Cup win for Ian Houston
Ian Houston followed up his recent Invitation win with Diane Moncrieff by winning the Currie Cup today. In pretty wild conditions Ian carded a 62 to give him a two stroke win from Graeme Markey who's 64 is a continuation of the success he had last week when he won the gents Invitation.
CSS today was 67
|12th October||Well done to Graeme Markey who won the Lochend Invitation with his partner A. Smart. a four-ball stableford score of 44 was good enough to win by 2 points ahead of Jack Barrass and J. McKinley. Charlie Lothian amd B. Stuart were third with 41 points.|
|5th October||Ian and Diane win a very close Invitation Competition
Well done Diane Moncrieff and Ian Houston who came out tops in a closely fought Ladies Invitation American Greensomes Competition in which only three shots seperated the top six couples.
Diane and Ian's 63 was the winning score with Jaci Moriarty/Duncan Ireland runner's up with 63.6 and Coleen Derighetti/Bren Ford taking 3rd place with 64.8
|4th October||October Medal is tough going for some
A high scoring medal today with almost half the field handing in a No-Return, Craigentinny must have been tough going today.
However there were a few who managed very impressive results. Paul Mackay's 64 was the best score of the day winning him the A Section by 4 shots from runner up Stuart McCallum.. Brian Alexander won the B section with a 65 with Jim McArthur a close runner-up with 66.
A Young won the C Section with 68.
If you are wondering how our newly crowned Club Champion James Tetlow fared, a 70 gave him a creditable 4th place in the A Section.
And just to prove how tough it was, the CSS today was 68
|2nd October||Summer Matchplay final for John Selcraig and Ally Forrest
John Selcraig bounced back from his B Championship final defeat by reaching the Summer Matchplay final, winnig a close semi-final against Alan Thompson at the 18th. In the final he will meet Ally Forrest who knocked out Steven Harper in the other Semi-final.
|28th September||Stuart McCallum collects the Alex Urquhart trophy for his winning team.
Well done to the winning team of Stuart Mccallum, Norman Breeze, Brian Coyle and George Patel who won the Alex Urquhart Texas Scramble today.

|6th September||September Medal - Alan Thompson tops again
Another fine win for Alan Thompson, who took the A Section with a 69, two shots ahead of runner-up Johan Svard.
J Valentine took the B Section with an excellent 65 giving him a four-stroke win over runner-up (and B Championship hopeful) John Selcraig.
In the C Section, Michael Ross also enjoyed a 4-stroke win with a 72. Robert Fawkes was runner-up with 76.

|Bren and Duncan win Summer Matchplay
Congratulations to Bren Ford and Duncan Ireland who found one more excellent performance to win the John Dickson Summer Pairs.
Bren and Duncan finally won the final against Colin Davidson and Chris Reid at the 17th.
|17th August||Lochend Retain Snuff Mull
Lochend halved their match 4-4 with Edinburgh Thistle to retain the Snuff Mull Trophy today at the Braids.
Well done the 16 man team and Vice Captain Colin Marshall thanks Edinburgh Thistle "for a great day"

|2nd August||Alex Fenwick August Medal win
Alex Fenwick, who won his B Championship quarter final last night, continued his fine form to win the B section today with the best overall score of 62. Ross Edwards was runner-up with 65, keeping it in the family as his dad Paul won the A Section with 63 winning by one stroke from Alan Thompson who bounced back from last nights Championship defeat with a 64, taking second place on the last 6 countback from John Greer.
Alex Nisbet won the C section with a 66.

Home wins and Hole-in-One at Lochend Open
|20th July||Glencorse victory for Jaci and Duncan
Jaci Moriarty and Duncan Ireland won the big prize at Glencorse Mixed Open today. They proved just as capable at the Greensome format as they have been in the foursomes this year.
A 61.2 was their winning score and would you believe the scratch prize was won by Duncan's wife Suzanne playing with Robert Binnie, also shooting a 69. Their nearest the pin and a share of the two sweeps (there were only three) meant they went away with a bit more of the cash on the day.
|13th July||Spence Bowl win for David Harper
David Harper won the Spence Bowl today in a very closely run competition.
David's 62 won it by a single stoke from Graham Hill who took second place in the better inward half from Jim McIntyre.
|11th July||Lochcraig win for Bren Ford and Jaci Moriarty
This year's Lochcraig outing turned out to be a family affair as Jaci Moriarty and Bren Ford won the Lochcraig Annual Outing competitions at Falkirk Tryst.
Jaci won the morning strokeplay with a 67 and Bren's 34 stableford points in the afternoon was good enough to win the Muriel Downie trophy.
Rumour has it that Bren and Jaci are now looking to invest in a larger mantelpiece.

|5th July||Fantastic 55 from Gavin Glendinning in July Medal
The story of the day is undoubtedly Gavin Glendinning's amazing 55. He may have had to play three off the tee twice (6th and 9th holes) but this didn't stop him playing his best ever round to win the C section by a county mile from Davin Milligan runner up with 68. Gavin's effort today will slash his handicap and see him move into pole position for next months's C Section championship. Jamie Crisp won the A section Medal with a 62, one stroke ahead of Graeme Markey. The B section was won by Steven Cockburn with a 64 ensuring he now tops the B Championship qualifyers. |5th July||Newbattle Scratch prize for Jaci and Duncan
Well done to Jaci Moriarty and Duncan Ireland who won the best scratch prize at Newbattle Mixed Open today.
Duncan's wife Suzanne, playing with Lochend's Gavin Clarke lead the scratch score for most of the day with 82 until Duncan and Jaci playing in the final pairing came in with the 81, wonder if Mr Ireland got any supper that night.
|29th June||John Batton Pairs win for Charlie and Norman
Charlie Lothian and Norman Breeze won the John Batton Pairs today.
Charlie clearly enjoys the better ball format having already been in the winning Triam team last month. Today with partner Norman Breeze a 59 won it from Chris Reid and Willie Hamilton, runners-up with 61 and those Harper Brothers are in the prizes again taking third place with a 64 on the better inward half from Bren Ford and Alan Penfold.
|8th June||Home Winners in the Seniors Open
Lochenders faired well in the Lochend Seniors Open today.
J. Mitchell narrowly came second in the "A" section, his 67 giving him the runner up spot to Liberton's John Hughes who took it on the best inward half.
Tam Gallaway (pictured) carded a 66 and was runner-up to his Longniddry buddy Tony Jarron in the "B" section, George Meikle took the third place in the same section with a 67.
Lochend swept the board in the "C" section as A. Thomson won with 65 followed by J Greenan (66) and Willie Maurice was third with 70.

|8th June||June Medal Results
A good day for David Glanville, Tam Keenan (pictured) and Alex Young, winners of the A, B, and C. sections respectively.
David Ganville's 60 won the A Section on the best inward half from Stuart Turner with Graham Hill taking 3rd spot with 64.
Tam Keenan's 62 gave him a four stroke winning margin in the B Section from Alex Fenwick's 66 with Jim Selcraig taking 3rd spot with 67.
Alex Young, Gavin Glendinning and Brian Werhun all carded the best score of 67 in the C Section with Alex winning on the inward half from Gavin who took the runner up spot on the inward half from Brian.
Today's medal was the second of the three championship qualifyers check out the current qualifying positions.
|1st May||Harper Brothers 1-2 in the Salvesen Shield
The sibling rivalry continued today as Steven Harper (pictured here with his proud missus) won the Salvesen Shield with a 62. Brother David was one stroke behind to take the runner-up spot by the better inward half from David Graham.
|1st June||Jamie and Diane in the prizes at Murrayfield
Jamie Crisp and Diane Moncrieff carded a 71 at Murrayfield Mixed Open in a round dogged by constant rain. Their efforts were rewarded as their score bagged them the 5th handicap spot.
Also well done to Robert Binnie and Suzanne Ireland who took the 3rd Scratch prize with an excellent 78.
|25th May||Glorious day for the top Trio in the Triam
Derek Ramsay, Jim McArthur and Charlie Lothian won the 2008 Triam today.
In the glorious Lochend sunshine they carded an excellent 56 winning by one stroke from Alan Thompson, Scott Robertson and Kenny Ferguson. Third place went to Paul Edwards, Charlie Vesco and Terry Coyle with 58 on the inward half from the team of Brian Coyle, Alex Fenwick and Willie Grossart.
|23rd May||Gullane Win for George Patel
Well done to George Patel who dealt with a wild and windy Gullane Number 3 to win the Lochcraig Medal with a 68. Bren Ford came a close second with a 69 which included two 2's taking the runner-up spot on the inward half from Alan Thompson.
|17th May||Duncan Ireland shines in the Quaich
125 players contested The Quaich competition today and it was Duncan Ireland who flew the Lochend flag with an excellent 62 to win the handicap prize. His scratch 66 was only 2 strokes behind the scratch winner, Duddingston's David Miller.
Yes a very good day for Mr and Mrs Ireland as Suzanne was busy forming part of the winning team at Royal Musselburgh's charity Scramble today. A fine double!

|10th May||Jamie Crisp so near to Liberton Win
Well done to Jamie Crisp who carded a 63 at Liberton's first ever Open tournament, just losing out in the big prize by a single stroke.
Derek Ramsay also managed to get into the prize's. His 65 was good enough for 7th place. And well done Tony Henderson who bagged the nearst the pin prize at the 6th.
|3rd May||Alex Ferguson, Tam Calder and G. Gough were the A, B and C winners today.
Tam carded a 61, Alex a 62 and G. Gough won the C section with a 66
|19th April||Lochend took the top two Handicap prizes today as Davie Harper's excellent 63 narrowly beat Alan Thompson's 64 into second place.
Scratch prize was won by A Chalmers from Hawick
