4th November Another win for young Scott Robertson today, taking the November Medal with a fine score of 64. Archie Johnston was runner-up with 65 and third spot went to Jimmy Craik with 66.
21st October Duncan Ireland won the Champion Of Champions trophy today scoring 64, one ahead of Jordi Fernandez. Graeme Markey took third place with 67 on the better-inward-half from Sandy Wright
7th October Robert Binnie overcame the heavy underfoot conditions today to win the October Medal (and the A Section) with his score of 64.  Paul Mackay was runner up (and B Section winner) with 65, Tam Galloway took 3rd with 66. Fourth placed Kenny Little won the C Section.
15th October The Alex Urquhart Texas Scramble was won today by the team of David Graham, Chris Reid, Raymond Paterson and Kenny Saunders with a score of 53.2. Billy Richardson, Scott Robertson Snr, Ricky Richardson and Scott Robertson Jnr were the very close runners-up with 53.8. Duncan Ireland, Tam Keenan, Bren Ford and Robert Binnie were third with 58.
  Well done to Gavin Taylor who won the Alan Devlin Summer Singles matchplay with a 3 & 1 victory over Jim Markey in the final.

  Lochend beat Deer Park to win the Tam Reid Memorial Shield by an emphatic 6-2 score

29th September John Workman lead the way at the Lochend Seniors Open today. 64 was his winning score on the better-inward-half from Duddingston's Paul Kelly.
Duddingston's Keith Miller carded the best scratch score of the day (66).
Prestonfield's Archie Stuart (score 65), Lochend's Kenny Saunders (score 66) and Lochend's David Graham (score 64) were the winners of the three different age sections.

  Congratulation to Sandy Wright and Mitch Storey who won the Summer Pairs Matchplay final with a fine win over David Graham and Chris Reid.
24th Sept Lochend's Denis Macintosh and his partner G. Forbes from Duddingston won the Lochend Invitational today with the better-ball score of 46, one shot better that runners-up Gavin Taylor and Paul Quinn with Mitch Storey and Brian Jenning (The Glen) taking 3rd place with 43.
23rd Sept Congratulations to Leighton Calder who won the Lochend Junior Championship with a 3 &2 win over Scott Robertson in the final.

17th September

Jimmy Craik won the Persevere Trophy today.  Three players carded the best score of the day (64) and Jimmy took it on the better-inward-half from runner-up Gordon Nelson who in turn had the b=i=h over Scott Cross. Michael Wright was 4th with a 65 on the b-i-h from Tam Galloway.
Alan Thompson who can't stop winning at the moment took the best Scratch prize with 68.

2nd September Arthur Sinclair won the September medal today (and the B Section) with a score of 62. Duncan Ireland was runner-up (and A Section winner) with 64 on the better-inward-half from Jordi Fernandez. Kenny Little won the C Section with a 66.
27th August Alan Thompson followed up his Championship win with another trophy today. This time the JGB MUIR trophy is safely in his hands.
Alan carded a 36-hole score of 130, three ahead of John Brigain and David Dalgleish (John took the runner-up spot on the better-inward-half).
Duncan Ireland took the 1st Scratch prize with 134, Mick Devine second with 142 and Ian Hoskins 3rd with 150
22nd August There were actually no less than three Lochenders who nailed hole-in-ones last week. Only just heard that John Young also holed his tee shot. This one was at Craigentinny's 13th during the JGB Muir trophy. They are raining in.
On Wednesday Alex MacIntyre got his first hole-in-one at Broomieknowe during their Seniors Open. Alex aced the 167 yard 5th hole using a hybrid and it was also nice he was playing fellow lochender Willie Hamilton.
Tam Galloway is also a proud member of the hole-in-one gang.  During the Lochcraig annual outing to Gogarburn, Tam duly found the cup with his 7-iron shot to the 128 yard 7th hole.

David Johnston and Michael Wright represented Lochend very well in the Belhaven Best Scottish Club Handicap over West Lothian. Their better-ball score of 69 ensured a top 10 finish gaining qualification for the prestigious Grand Final at Fairmont St Andrews on Friday 22 September.

5th August Young Scott Robertson won his second medal (third competition win) of the season today. Sporting an interesting new hairstyle Scott carded a 62 to take the medal (and the B Section). Robert Low was runner-up with 63 and Scott Cross took third (and the A Section) with 64. Steven Chalmers took the C Section with 68.
22nd July Cameron McPherson was part of the winning Triam Team today.   Along with Michael Wright and John Farquhar they carded a score of 56 to win on the better-inward-half from the team of Brian Coyle, Charlie Vesco and Steve Chalmers.   The team of Kevin Fraser, Chris Reid and Stafano Vasella were third with 57.
8th July Lochenders faired well in the Lochend Open.  Former member Robert Kay, who now plays from Edinburgh Western posted his winning score of 63 early and it held the lead for Robert to win the D.A. Arthur Bowl for best Handicap. Duddingston's Craig Tumblety was runner-up with 64.  Lochend's Jimmy Craik took third sport on the last 6 countback being the best of four players on 65 (including Lochend's Rab Low). 
The Scratch Trophy was won by Duddingston's David Miller with a 65, it may be not quite the Craigentinny course record 59 that David currently still holds, but still a good 5 shot win.
Alan Thompson was runner-up with 70, Ian Hoskins was third with 71 on the better-inward-half from Colin Farwell.

1st July Tam Keenan won the July Medal today (and the B Section) with a score of 60. Alex Nisbet was runner-up (and C Section winner) with 61 Stuart McCran was 3rd on the better-inward-half from Graeme Markey (A Section winner) both carding 62.
25th June Paul Young won the McLean Cup today with a scratch score of 71 with Alan Thompson taking second spot with 73 then four players carded scratch 74 with Colin Farwell, John Young, Robert Binnie and Graeme Markey finishing 3rd to 6th place respectively on the better-inward-half.
Alex Ferguson won the Handicap competition with 65 followed by four players who carded 66 with Paul Young, Graham Hill, John Young and David Johnston finishing 2nd to 5th place respectively on the better-inward-half.
18th June Today's Captains Day was blessed with glorious sunshine as 104 players contested the annual Texas Scramble.  The winning team was Gordon Nelson, Paul Pearson, Gary Muir and Ian Hoskins which included a 2 at the 11th when Gordon nailed a long range pitch. And it was to make all the difference as their winning score of 52 was just ahead of the team of Tam Keenan, Bren Ford, David Graham and Robert Binnie who scored 52.6.
Third was Mark Dalrymple, John Flynn, Gary Cheyne and Robert Sutherland with 53. Fourth placed was the best of the teams including a lady as Violet Paterson, Greame Markey, Jim Markey and A Murray scored 53.8.
Great turn-out, great weather and great scoring made for a very enjoyable day.
10th June Michael Devine won the Lochend Quaich today by a two-stroke margin from runner-up Robert Binnie who pipped Stuart McMurdo into third place on the better-inward-half.  Mick's winning score was 60 with Robert and Stuart both carding 62.
3rd June New member Ronaldas Latuelis won his first Lochend Medal today. in what was a very good scoring medal Ronaldas won the medal (and B Section) with a score of 59. Martin Kyles was runner-up (winning the A Section) with 60 and Graham Chapman was third and winner of the C Section with 61.

25th May Colin Farwell won his second trophy of the year today. Adding the Spence Bowl to the Mackie Cup he won last month.
A score of 60 was good enough for a 3-stroke lead over runner-up David Johnston (63) with Alex Ferguson taking third spot on the better-inward-half from Jim McArthur with 64.
20th May Michael Wright and David Johnston won the John Batton Pairs today for the second year in a row.  Unfortunately I don't have a note of the scores (was on holiday).
Colin Farwell and John Selcraig were runners-up and Jimmy Craik and Brian Coyle were third
14th May Eric McGillivary won the Currie Cup today by the slenderest of margins. 39 stableford points was enough to give Eric the trophy after a last 6-hole countback from Peter Anthony. Sandy Wright was third by way of a better-inward-half over the other six players who scored 38 points.
Duncan Ireland won the scratch competition with 35 points with Alan Thompson runner-up with 34 points
7th May Jim McArthur and Linda Primmer won the Club Mixed Foursomes today by three strokes.  They carded 62.5 followed by Pat McCafferty and Joan Gray (65.5) on the better-inward-half from Billy Richardson and Pat Meikle. Jimmy Craik and Jaci Moriarty were 4th with 68.5 George Meikle and Coleen Derighetti were 5th with 71.5. Another enjoyable fun event.
6th May John Flynn won the May Medal (and ther A Section) today with a 61 on the better-inward-half from Alex Ferguson who also won the B Section with Jordi Fernandez in third place with 64. David Johnston won the C Section with 65
30th April A 5-stroke win for Sean Alexander today as he cards a 62 to take the Salveson Shield. Michael Devine and George Muir both carded 67 Michael taking the runner-up spot on the better-inward-half.
22nd April

Colin Farwell won the Mackie Cup today. This is a scratch competition and Colin came through pretty tough conditions to score 69 and he was the only player to break 70.  Michael Devine was runner-up with 71and Alan Thompson third with 72.
In the Handicap competition David Ferguson was first with 61closely followed by James Kay (62) and David Deary (63).

16th April Stuart McMurdo and Derek Ramsay won the Rab Binnie Greensomes today with a score of 59.5 closely followed by Gary Breheny and David Haining (60). The Spanish team of Jordi Fernandez and Jorge Rodriguez were third with 60.5
9th Apr Well done to the travelling lochenders team of Billy & Ricky Richardson, Mark Ramage, Scott Robertson snr who took 3rd place at Kirkaldy Texas Scramble with a 55.8
1st Apr David Stewart won the April Medal (and the C Section) with a 61 by a three-stroke margin from Chris Reid, A Section winner and overall runner-up on the better-inward-half from Stefano Vessalla who also carded 64 to win the B Section.
26th Mar Paul Mackay won his second competition in the space of a few weeks when teaming up with Michael McFarlane to won the Alex Gair Pairs today. The pair carded a 61 and took the trophy on the better-inward-half from David Graham and Chris Reid
17th Mar Well done Terry Paul who took the Cheltenham Trophy today.  Annually played for on the Cheltenham Gold Cup day.
4th Mar Gary Cheyne won the March Medal today carding a fine score of 62.  John Brigain was runner-up with 63 and Stuart McMurdo was third with 54
19th Feb Colin Farwell and Paul Mackay won the Faither Simpson Trophy today in a closely fought competition. Their winning score of 66 was one ahead of runners-up Tam Keenan and Duncan Ireland. Jason Harkins and Alex D Ferguson took 3rd with 67.5 on the better-inward-half from Rab Low and Mick Devine
4th Feb Another win for young Scott Robertson today who added the February Medal to his New Year's Day success with a score of 63, two shots ahead of David Haining.
Colin Farwell took third place on the better-inward-half from Alex D. Ferguson both having scored 67.

7th Jan One stroke separated the top 7 in todays February Medal. Three players had the best score of 64 as Alan Thompson won the Medal on the better-inward-half from Pat McCafferty and Stuart McMurdo who were second and third respectively.
1st Jan Well done Scott Robertson (Baby Spike) who is proving to be quite the up-and-coming wee star. The 14-year-old showed the oldies how its done by winning the J B Roche New Year's Day competition with a brilliant 58. So nice to see the lad's commitment paying off, he hardly misses a Junior Monday Night during the summer and puts in so much practice with his proud dad and friends (Scott is also contributing to the R’S Holes rise up the Winter League table). What a bright golfing future he has ahead of him.
Kelly McShannon also kicked-off 2017with a win by taking the Ladies New Year day Competition with an impressive 67, five strokes ahead of Eileen Gillespie and Jaci Moriarty.
